La terrible Arena
Atlas Fallen se desarrollará en la tierra de Atlas, un lugar donde los dioses y los humanos compartían convivencia, hasta que el dios del Sol, Thelos, comandó a los dioses para expulsar a los humanos de sus tierras. Ahora, los humanos deben sobrevivir en un páramo cubierto por una arena que oculta recuerdos de un pasado y repleto de criaturas mitológicas. Su gran ambición es conseguir derrotar a los dioses que los traicionaron y tienen las herramientas para hacerlo, todo gracias a un poderoso Guantelete que se encuentra su protagonista y que le permite controlar la arena. Estas habilidades heroicas se unirán a armas capaces de cambiar de forma durante el combate. En el interior del Guantelete morará un espíritu conocido como Nyaal que sufrirá de amnesia.
Un arte ocre
El juego se lanzará para PlayStation 5, Xbox Series y PC, siendo uno de los primeros en explotar el motor gráfico Unreal Engine 5. Así que el apartado técnico promete mucho y más viendo sus anteriores proyectos, como Lords of the Fallen, que tendrá próximamente una continuación, The Lords of the Fallen a cargo de otro estudio. Así se nos presenta un escenario donde el color ocre será el gran protagonista, pese a ofrecer la sensación de monotonía su mundo semi abierto presentará muchos lugares y ruinas que explorar. El desplazamiento será muy ágil presentando movimiento en el que surfearemos las arenas a gran velocidad. Por otro lado estarán los movimientos de parkour que harán evitar y escalar estructuras de manera muy espectacular.
La exploración del terreno aumentará al no tener indicadores de hacia dónde ir para continuar la historia principal. En este escenario nos encontraremos con montones de misiones secundarias que completar, muchas de ellas son una excusa para expandir el interesante lore del juego, incluso contarán con situaciones cómicas. Las misiones secundarias prometen desde un inicio que no serán de recadero y tendrán situaciones muy variadas. En el escenario además tendremos muchos combates que realizar y encontrar diferentes coleccionables. No todo serán arenas, visitaremos algunos pueblos y ciudades donde conversar con los NPC’s y comprar en las tiendas.
Hack’n Slash
Se presenta como un Action RPG, pero con un fuerte componente Hack’n Slash, donde nos enfrentaremos a espectaculares enemigos. Lo podremos hacer en solitario o con la compañía de un segundo jugador online. Los enemigos serán grandes bestias y dioses, muchos de ellos presentarán batallas con mecánicas exclusivas como si fueran jefes finales. Podremos localizar diferentes extremidades de los enemigos para amputarlas. Muchas de ellas con la intención de cortar algunos ataques o para recolectar materiales o armas. Los rápidos movimientos de nuestro personaje jugarán un papel importante para esquivar golpes o encontrar situaciones beneficiosas.
El otro factor trascendental y protagonista absoluto de los combates es el medidor de ímpetu, fraccionado en diferentes niveles que dependerán de nuestra maestría en el combate a la hora de encadenar golpes y movimientos especiales. Cuanto mayor sea más, rápidamente se rellenará un umbral. En cada umbral completo se irá desatando el poder del guantelete, cambiando la forma de nuestra arma, haciéndola más poderosa. Además, iremos activando movimientos especiales que serán muy espectaculares y que serán necesarios para derrotar al enemigo. Lamentablemente rellenar los umbrales también afectará a nuestros enemigos, haciéndolos aun más poderosos y aumentando la dificultad del combate.
Piedras de esencia
Nuestro personaje tendrá dos hachas como armas para ataques rápidos y un látigo para los ataques a media distancia. Al menos de inicio, porque habrá más armas disponibles siendo todas ellas modificables. Para ello tendremos un total de 151 piedras de esencia que irán desbloqueando nuevas habilidades tanto activas como pasivas de las armas. Éstas se conseguirán al derrotar a enemigos o completar algunas de las misiones secundarias. Las piedras le aportarán un toque de estrategia a los combates, que estarán ligados al ímpetu. Al inicio interesará potenciar los ataques y en lo más alto dotarlas de habilidades defensivas, para aguantar los golpes de los enemigos, mucho más duros.
¿Qué esperamos?
Atlas Fallen presenta un nuevo mundo muy tentador para explorar y descubrir los secretos que se esconden en él. La narrativa en un primer contacto no parecerá su fuerte, con un personaje con poca personalidad y un espíritu que lo acompaña llamado Nyaal más plano aun que el protagonista. Donde gana muchos enteros es tanto en el combate como en el estilo RPG. Sus combates prometen ser una auténtica pasada con enfrentamientos brutales, estos dependerán mucho de la barra de ímpetu. La personalización de las armas dependerá de las runas y los recursos que nos vayamos encontrando. El título promete muchas horas de diversión que se multiplicarán con su cooperativo.
